My furriends,

Just a quick post to let you know that we are doing fine! Really not many damages from Sandy! We have electricity! Thank you Ceiling Cat!

How are my furriends on the East Coast doing?

On a less happy note, look who stole my brand new box:

Hmpf!

I wonder if I can make some money, to buy myself Greenies, by sending the following picture to the Amazon humans… Don’t you think Milou is doing a great catification of their logo?

First things first: sorry for another period without posts on my blog or without me visiting your bloggies. My human cannot go to work tomorrow because of the hurricane (she’s not pleased – she’s doing her back of disrespect to the weather) so I’ll be able to spend some time with her to work on my blog and read your lovely posts.

That is, if Hurricane Sandy isn’t cutting off our Internet connection and/or our electricity. Sandy is arriving on our shores tomorrow (winds tonight). Trains, subways and busses have been shut down, schools in NYC will be closed tomorrow and part of NYC is being evacuated.

I could not care less. But the humans seem to be taking this seriously. So just so you know, if you don’t hear from us in the next few days, that may be because of Sandy and not my human.

Also, if we don’t have a blackout, we might schedule post that would go online after a blackout (thanks to WordPress scheduling option). So if posts go online but you don’t see us on your bloggie or answering comments, a blackout may have happened after we scheduled a couple of posts. Are you following me?

STAY SAFE everyone on the East Coast (especially)!

In the meantime, here is my new box. My human says it is too small for me, but I don’t see why. Do you?

I only recently discovered that October was also Tocktober… The month to show our tocks!
I discovered that by reading my furriends’ bloggies.

I happen to show my tocks to my human not only in October but also whenever I am not happy with her work.

Here is a picture of Kitshka and I taken in early September (Kitshka was a little littler):

And here are pictures of, first, Kitshka and I, and then Milou, both taken in October:

I think Milou wins if there was a contest between us. What do you think? Do you like our tocks? Are there other funny cat blogosphere events we should know about (I liked showing my tocks to the humans!)?

My silly human forgot about the following video when I first posted about me as a kitten playing with fruits.

Silly human.

Hope you like the video.

Finally, the long-awaited post I told you about is here! Woo-ooh!

~~~
Most of my readers probably know that Katie of Glogirly was recently elected Cat Ruler of the World in a contest in which the real winners were the shelters each of the cat-idates was supporting (and especially the new ruler’s choice, here Blind Cat Rescue).
The great election contest was organized by Zee & Zoey and their human Ms. Deb Barnes (Hiya!). The contest was backed by generous sponsors who donated meals, litter and other prizes to shelters. Please follow the link just above for all the details.
Some of the kitties voting also won some prizes! I was one of the lucky Facebook winners!!
We first received the Cat-A-Pole, directly from Ms. Barnes who added a sweet little card!
Okay, the picture isn’t great, but it’s just to give you an idea of its size and everything. Just check the website of the toy for more details.
It was an instant success with me.
The little fur ball with feathers, at the end of the pole, moves in all unexpected directions! Plus it seems the humans get tired less quickly which means we can play longer! So the toy is more enjoyable to both the human (I know, we don’t care much about them but if that can make them play longer ;-) and the kitty.
Milou did play a bit with it too but the human didn’t have the time to take pictures. Truth is, tornado Kitshka spotted the toy and took immediately possession of it. Literally.
She enjoys the Cat-a-Pole so much that I or Milou cannot play with it when she is in the room. Want me to prove it? Check the following video. Don’t forget to turn your speakers on to hear her growling and hissing at the beginning (understand: “the toy is mine!”). And don’t miss the end when she helps the human edit the video.
[If you cannot see the video from my blog, click here]
The toy was – is – a huge success! Thanks to Ms. Barnes and Cat-a-Pole!
TGIF – Nap time again
Well, the video still isn’t up… I feel embarrassed. I know I shouldn’t because it’s the human’s fault but still…
By the way, I now have more than 1,000 email notifications of posts by my furriends in my inbox. And the humans woke up horribly early. Not to help me with my blog.
You may know that I have a day job. Yep. I am Nap Substitute In Chief: I nap for the humans. That’s a great job. I love it. You gotta love your job.
Today I am having a hectic schedule of napping. But tomorrow is the weekend! Yippee!
So I wish you all a wonderful Friday and lots of naps. Will keep you posted on the video.
Not go.
Today, I wanted to present you one of the great toys we now play with daily. My post is ready: text (my human typed it), pictures, efurrything is ready! But…
Well, the humans have filmed Kitshka playing with it and the male human is in charge of editing the video. But the male human didn’t get the chance to edit it yet. Guess why. Yep, work.
So, to keep you waiting, here’s a teaser by Mademoiselle Kitshka:
Meanwhile, we wait more or less patiently, and have started reading your bloggies again!
Dear Furriends,
Sorry for another hiatus (vocab building project VBP). Of course it is not my fault again. Well kind of.
First, the human said she felt blue (could be my fault – thinking that maybe I didn’t put enough of my white hair on the t-shirt), then she didn’t have time (Hmpf! Not my fault!), then she drove Kitshka crazy with this cool new toy I won thanks to Ms. Deb Barnes of Zee & Zoey (more on this tomorrow hopefully).
Can you tell we have been waiting to have access to the computer?
Texas: Can I blog now?
Kitshka: Is that Greenies in her hand?
So, this is a short blog post because my human has to go back to work… but I want to make her commit to type my blog posts… so posts to come will include thanking our furriends who nominated us for awards, thanking Mollie and Alfie for spooking us, sharing the fun we had with the prizes we received recently. And of course, sharing our daily life which is much more interesting than the human going to work, don’t you think?
Also, resuming reading your blogs is urgent matter… I hope you will forgive us again. In the meantime, I hope you are all doing fine and Kitshka and I are sending purrs. Lots of purrs!
Furriends,
Is it just us – or our part of the world – or is it getting cold these days?
We – Kitshka, Milou and I – spend most of our days napping (which means more than the usual 10-hour mandatory napping), sometimes cuddled next to each other.
Even Kitshka sleeps more!
She is NOT checking something on the floor.
She DID fall asleep like that.
Milou even made himself a warm tent with my human’s hubby’s sleeve-free (!) jacket.
Taken!
Zzzzzzzzzzz…. ***snoring sounds***
What is the weather like where you live?
When I arrived at my furever home as a kitten, I was amazed at all the toys I could find in my human’s (soon to be mine) home.
One thing I found very exciting and funny was fruits that were around. Some could roll! Of course, it soon became forbidden (my human pretended that some fruits could be dangerous) – as was jumping and walking on the table to get to them. But I couldn’t care less.
Until the fruits disappeared from my sight. Hmph.
What was your favorite toy as a kitten?
A little less than a month ago, I pawticipated in my first ever Twitter pawty. It was organized by Baby Patches of Nip and Bones and the beautiful Sparkle. It was a virtual book signing pawty for Sparkle’s book!
I was very excited and liked every minute of it. The beautiful Sparkle answered questions and pawtographed books like a pro. Of course, being a kitty, she is a pro!
The pawty ended with the olive on the tuna cake when I was first to answer the question asked to win a pawtographed copy! Look at the beauty on the right! (click for a bigger version)
“Dear Sparkle: Cat-to-Cat Advice from the World’s Foremost Feline Columnist” is a must-have for any feline, my furriends, and for many reasons.
The book is full of colored pictures of the beautiful Sparkle, and this only is a reason to own it. But the book is so much more.
Sparkle has collected letters from kitties from around the world that sent her their questions about kitty issues that you and I may well have encountered: from toys and games to dealing with strange human habits to litter box issues. Sparkle answers with wits, humor and charm (is there anything more charming than a Ladycat with repartie?).
I liked that the book was divided into sections related to different kinds of issues. I also absolutely loved the little “Sparkle Says” tidbits of wisdom here and there.
The book reads well and you can either read it from cover to cover, or pick and choose a letter and Sparkle’s answer. Even if you don’t have the issue mentioned in the letter, there is always something to learn from the expert. What better expert can you ask for as a kitty than a kitty? This book has been written by a kitty and you can clearly see it.
Open-minded humans will read this book and take it as a way to better understand their master kitty friend.
Conclusion: we give it four paws!
I mentioned above that I answered a question to win the book. It was about her next book, and it is going to be about cat rules for humans. I am eagerly waiting for this book and Kitshka and I have started applying rule #882, as you can see below (we were on the human’s hubby’s chair).
THANK YOU Sparkle, for this great book!
Furriends, Christmas is coming, this could be added to your list to Santa Paws ;-)
Many things happened while my human was doing something else than posting on my blog…
But first things first: thank you all for sending purrs and messages to Dayak. Her Mom left a message in the comments of my post to say that she was sleeping a lot due to the medication. We are waiting for more news and hope she is going to be better really soon. I keep sending purrs.
In other news, from my home this time, Kitshka has deaded another toy. Really deaded.
See, Spitty? This one has no magical powers I’m afraid and will not come back to life. It never was a favorite of mine or Grouik or Milou, but Kitshka liked it a LOT. As you can obviously guess. But that’s okay because we have other toys. More on this in the days to come ;-)
Some time ago, I was one of the lucky winners of a Purina Be Happy T-Shirt over at Cat Chat. Thanks to Cody and Caren!
So my human and I went to the site (actually their Facebook page) where we could make our own t-shirt. Because you see, the coolest part was that we could “make” the t-shirt the way it pleased us me. So I told my human to make it about me.
Guess what? Yep, she messed up. Check the t-shirt.
It is a very nice t-shirt but how is it about me?
Doesn’t smell like me…
Is the kitty supposed to be me? Just wondering because I don’t have any fishbowl to fish from here…
Here’s what I think about you making this t-shirt a tribute to me…
Busy busy busy…
Shhh shhh!
What?! Yes, human, you can wear this nice t-shirt… as long as you get me a fishbowl with a magical fishie inside, like Spitty’s
Actually, I don’t really need the fishbowl. I’ll be magnanimous (VBP): the magical fishie alone will do.
Thanks to Cody and Caren and Purina and Happy Caturday everyone!
Dayak needs some purrs
My bloggies furriends, with my human being completely inconsistent, I discovered only today that a French bloggie furriend had health issues with skin blotches (I think that’s how we say in English) over her body that are very itchy.
My furriend’s name is Dayak and Dayak’s vet prescribed cortisone to help her.
If you have a minute today, would you mind stopping by her bloggie or send some purrs?
Here is her last post and here is the homepage to her blog.
If you want to leave a comment, click on “laisser un commentaire” and leave your name, email or blog url (optional) and comment and don’t forget to tick the little box (the text says that racial insults are forbidden by law)
I hope she gets better real soon! We’re sending lots of purrs sweetie! Pleins de ronrons pour toi !
Hiya furriends!
Thank you all for your support yesterday! I’m glad to announce that my human was terrified at the idea of my purring strike – and also wanted to keep some of her Christmas paper for Christmas, how strange it may seem! – so we won!
I am back to blogging today (one day before the lastest limit). We didn’t get the extra treats and tuna juice though (the human wasn’t too pleased with the strike threat per se) but we’ll find a way.
We will go back to visiting your bloggies starting today. Yeah!
In the meantime, as proof of goodwill from everyone, the humans decided to build (yet) another shelving thingie to accommodate (Vocab Building Project VBP) more of my human’s books and let Kitshka and I watch supervise.
As you can see, we got everything under control. We were there to help them measure stuff.
We were there to support the humans.
What are you waiting for?
Start the job! We have blogging stuff to do!
Not too bad, human. Keep on keeping on.
Kitshka got a little distracted along the way, but that’s okay, she’s still young.
Tomorrow, I’ll start showing you some of the cool stuff I was so lucky to win! Have a great day my furriends!
Alright furriends, I am so not pleased with my human and her not giving me time to 1) post on my blog, 2) visit all my furriends’ bloggies (I tried this but didn’t manage to visit all of you yet – sorry).
Sooooo, being a French kitty, I’m threatening to STRIKE: no more purrs, no more letting my human pet me if we are not back by THIS Friday (and have additional dried tuna treats everyday and tuna juice twice a week)! You hear me human? Of course I will train Kitshka in the art of French strike.
Kitshka has started making banners out of Christmas gift paper she found behind a closet, hidden (!). Agreed, she needs a little more practice.
Today, we have planned a sit-in in front of the desk.
Oh and human, we KNOW where the Greenies are. So Friday is the lastest limit.
[My human was scared enough about the no-purring threat that she helped me post this one, so Kitshka and I have high hopes]
