We were busy

Sorry furriends for not posting these past couple of days. I’ll be back to regular blogging tomorrow (when the human is ready to get un-busy) and I have some really cool stuff to show you!

In the meantime, check how Kitshka and I really got ourselves busy on the humans’ bed.

Dancing

Singing

Supervising the human: “What are you doing exactly, human?”

After-work napping

Yeah, alright, Kitshka did pretty much everything. But heh! She’s a kid, she’s young! Besides that gives her the opportunity to learn!

Purrs to y’all!

Where my human’s Mom lives, there is a small forest nearby. My human and her husband brought me there a couple of times when I was still almost a kitten (about 5 months old on the pics).

I loved it! I was on a leash (my human was frightened at the idea that I could run away) but that was still pretty cool. I could smell the different plants and animals. I could climb trees. It was a great adventure!

The pics are not that great because my human had just bought her DSLR and she was learning to use it. But they’re still good memories =^.^=

I was asking my human to type the subject with “nappy Sunday” but she told me I shouldn’t because nappy means something else. Ah?
So here’s to you for a napful Sunday!

And look who’s conquered Milou’s grumpy heart?

You probably knew this expression, to let the cat out of the bag:

It is used when someone tells something that was supposed to be secret. No one can explain how the cat got into the bag. But there is an old story about it.

Long ago tradesmen sold things in large cloth bags. One day a woman asked for a pig. The tradesman held up a cloth bag with something moving inside it. He said it was a live pig. The woman asked to see it. When the dishonest tradesman opened the bag, out jumped a cat – not a pig. The tradesman’s secret was out. He was trying to trick her. And now everybody knew it.

We have a secret and this has some kind of relation with the definition given above. But we’re not letting the cat out of the bag just yet. Keeping you waiting ;-)

Have a great Caturday!

Remember a couple of days ago when I explained how to get your human’s attention when your human was reading in bed? Well, it looks like I got a little too much attention. She decided she wanted some snuggling time instead of reading!

Seriously, what’s with the snuggles and kisses?! I just need to play and get some tuna!

Human! What are all the Ladycats reading my blog going to think now?! I’m a grown Mancat for Ceiling Cat sake!

You may remember that I had a technique to get your humans’ attention when they decide to read instead of playing with you. This technique worked on the couch, as you can see on the pictures, but what if your human decides to read in bed?

It is actually no different. It’s on the bed after all, so all you have to do is go sleep on it. The book that is.

Hiya, human! Is it time to sleep already?

Let me check your clock! Oh yes! It is time!

Sorry, no time to read

Sweet dreams!

First things first: Milou would like to thank all of you for all your best wishes and nice comments. I think he enjoyed having his special day and spent most of it napping =^.^=

Now for the memories. My human used to have an exercise bike in her apartment in Paris. I absolutely loved it. In fact I made it mine. Besides, my human rarely used it (Yes it’s true, human!)! I loved loved it!

Unfortunately, before we all moved to the U.S., my human sold it to some strangers claiming that we could not bring everything to America. So I had to say adieu to my bike.

Here is one of the good moments I had on it! In case you are wondering, this is not my human on the video (my human was filming), this is my human’s Mom.

Hope you enjoy the video!

If you cannot see the video on this blog, go here.

Hiya everyone!

Today is Milou’s birthday! Or so I’ve decided.

You see, we don’t know exactly when Milou was born.

A little history (my half-brother Milou is old…):
Milou was adopted at some point in late summer, according to my human’s husband. My human’s husband doesn’t remember when exactly (have you noticed furriends how female humans are better at remembering dates, especially birthdays and stuff like that, than male humans?) and since he didn’t know my human at the time, well, my human cannot remember for the rest of us!

To keep Milou’s story of adoption short, my human’s husband adopted him when it was clear that the woman who had first adopted Milou because he was a cute kitten had realized that adopting a cute kitten implied responsibilities other than just, well, watching the cute kitten. So my human’s husband and Grouik welcomed him in their (Grouik’s) home. It was about 13 years ago.

Grouik quickly became protective of Milou and they have lived together for 13 years.

Milou has had many health issues during his life, including one instance of trying to catch a leprechaun in Ireland and falling from the fifth floor of the human’s apartment building. Thank Ceiling Cat the always-wet grass of Ireland (It was often raining – my human’s words) and Milou’s fat (the vet’s words) saved his life and left him with a minor injury at one of his hind legs.

Anyway, to keep a long story short, on top of his health problems (like a special urinary diet, among other stuff), I think Milou is missing Grouik still. Okay, he’s not always been very nice to me, but he’s about okay with the brat little sister and he is old(er) now.

Soooooo, I’ve decided that today would be his day, September 16. Milou’s Day.

Will you celebrate with me and wish Milou a Happy Milou’s Day?

Here are some funny pictures of my half-brother Milou!

I has a sad.

What you are about to see is a little bit gruesome, so if you have a sensible heart, you may not want to see the following pictures.

Let me start with why and the least gruesome of pics.

Kitshka is very energetic. Well, she’s a kitten, so that’s quite normal and healthy.
As mentioned before, despite the fact that the humans got her brand new toys just for her, she had to use our toys.

And destroy them.

Here is my beloved Kragonfly, all torn and chewed.

Now is the time to turn away if you can’t bear to see destroyed beloved toys…

Here is our Da Bird, or what’s left of it.

My human doesn’t want us to play with it anymore, but she says she cannot buy a new one just yet. Hmph.

And here is the little lady responsible for that. And proud of it!

I want new toys!!

I was not born on September 11, 2001, but my human was already a grown-up and she was in New York City on that day.
Every year on that day, she remembers the horror of what happened but she also thinks about all the heroes of 9-11 and likes to pay tribute to them, if only in thought.

Since this is a furry blog, my human and I would like to share this video with you today. It is about rescue dogs that helped the rescue efforts at the WTC in NYC.
You might have already seen it. It’s a beautiful video. They are heroes too and we remember them too and how together with humans they were helpful.

Purrs to all.

If you cannot see the video, click here.

I am extremely late in posting today. My human insisted on using the evil vacuum cleaner which made her lost precious time. Anyway.

I posted yesterday about Mo Cats Day, in reaction to a Facebook post that was sent our way. Some kitties posted their picture on the Facebook page, but not so many, so please don’t hesitate!

I also learned that today was Pet Memorial Day.

Below you will find two pictures of my half-brother Grouik, that we lost in July, as you probably know if you are reading my blog. You can follow the link to his special page by clicking on the pictures.

We miss you lots Grouik. I think Milou is a little lost without you. But we have a new little sister. Milou is a bit grumpier, as you would guess, but he’s getting used to her. I think you would have liked little Kitshka.

I also happen to think that Mo Cats Day is a great way to honor Grouik actually. I think he would have liked to have a confirmation that we do rule the world (and the Internet for that matter). He sure ruled his human’s heart and life.

Many purrs to all.

Hiya furriends,

I did not intend to post today. I wanted to visit your blogs since I am about at least 500 posts late (that’s what gmail is telling me and my human almost fell from her chair when she opened my mailbox today).

But we received an email from my human furriend Janina, telling us that one of her human furriends had posted something on Facebook saying that today, there should be a moratorium on cats on Facebook because there were too many rats out there and instead of striking the pose for Facebook pictures we should go out and hunt rats.

THE NERVE.

We, kitties, have recently been the target of a dirty smear campaign (I won’t post links to the smear campaign articles, you all saw one or two, but instead I want to link to a post from Cat Wisdom 101 that sums up pretty well what I think: here).

Also, I had heard of this cat-free day on the Internet stuff when it first came up. I had liked the reaction of the cat blogosphere. I didn’t intend to do anything special today, except keep on posting as usual because at my home, it is cat-day everyday!

I know my furriend’s furriend’s post on Facebook was meant as a joke. Still, I was a bit shocked to read some of the comments.

Peeps: if you don’t like cat pics, just don’t go watch cat pics on the Internet! You can hide the profiles that post cat pics from your news feed. But don’t ask for a moratorium or worse. Really, I’m telling you, some humans are strange.

We, kitties, just ignore humans or stuff we don’t like. We don’t campaign to have them forbidden.

So anyway, in the spirit of freedom, I want to share more cat pics for those who want more cat pics.

I have created a special Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/MoCatsDay

We kitties are free spirits. So I refuse we be silenced in any way. No one is forced to visit the page. But this page will exist for those who want to visit it.

If you like the idea, I invite you to visit the page, like it if you like to see cat pics and want to see more, and post a picture of yourself (that’s for kitties) or of your kitty furriend (that’s for humans) on this page.

What do you think, kitties? I say let’s purr in harmony to show the world that kitties rule!

Kitshka Friday

Today it’s been 4 weeks that Kitshka has joined our family. So I thought I’d do a Kitshka Friday! Enjoy!

Hiya furriends,

I know I haven’t posted or visited your blog for a couple of days now. I apologize. But I have a good reason.

We were so in the spirit of Labor Day Kitshka and I, with our human laboring, that we thought we should nap not only for us, but for our humans too. Aren’t we kind kitties?

We will be answering your comments and visiting your blog some time today, after our nap =^.^=

In the meantime, here are some napping techniques to help your human benefit from your napping.

Curled-up-position, or the Cat (sometimes mispronounced “Chi”) position – Let the energy flow all around

On the side position – Let’s direct the energy in the good direction

The yin-yang-kinda position – We provide the napping while the humans provide the laboring. We all have our part to play.

This position is very powerful. Let me show you how much it is powerful.

Can you feel the energy?

The top-down position – A great way to share the energy, from the top

Occupy-the-human’s-desk position – Obviously, my human’s husband’s desk needs a little “cleansing energy”

The raised-behind position – A revolutionary technique developed by Kitshka, and supervised by myself

The long-distance position – The greater the length of kitties in the house, the better

Obviously, as you can see, Kitshka shows great and promising skills. She has a good master =^.^=

Hiya everyone!

Today is a holiday here in the U.S. It is Labor Day. So my human will be working for me, since it’s LABOR Day. Heh. Happy Labor Day, human. She’s happy with that apparently =^.^=

Here is a video of when I ate my first can of wet food. It was very yummy and I wasn’t about to let Milou eat it for me. Although my human bought even better food since then, like with entire pieces of tuna or chicken. But I digress.
I was almost 4 months at the time. It was in my human’s boyfriend’s tiny apartment in Paris.

It’s a bit long but Milou is patient and also, if you wait til the end, you can see that even Grouik had a hard time having a bit of my leftovers.

Enjoy Monday!

Yep, we decided to take it easy today and to embark our human with us. So just a quick post and we’re out for some fun and naps and noms and fun and naps and noms…

First, my regular readers know that English is neither my human’s nor my native tongue.
When we nominated furriends for the Super Sweet Blogger Award, we assumed (including my human who likes to cook like we’re a family of ten) that “Nominate a baker’s dozen” meant “nominate a dozen blogs.” Well no. My human could – should – have know (see post on kibbles above-mentioned). Turns out “a baker’s dozen” means thirteen or fourteen.

So the good news is, I decided to nominate two more furriends. These are French furriends that I have only recently met through our blogs and I LOVE their blogs (and the beautiful Liousha, yes, I admit):
=^.^= Liousha et Tiki — The beautiful Liousha, like me, has seen a recent addition to her family (only the other way around: she has a little brother, Tiki)
=^.^= La Voix aux Chats-Pitres (I won’t even try translating the play on words) — Zingara and Graffiti also have a new little brother that looks a bit like me. His name is Romeo.

If you wish to accept the awards, please do follow the rules to pass them around (that can be done in French of course!) but do not feel obligated to do so. I think your blogs are sweet so I am glad to share them with all my furriends.

Finally for today, a couple of readers have offered to “foster” Kitshka. Yeah, she is that tiring cute, that’s why we are keeping her. But thank you, my furriends, I appreciate your offer =^.^= Remember there are many like her waiting for their furrever home. Just saying =^.<=
Also we found a solution to the bed issue.

The humans took the pics with their iPhone when they were just coming back from grocery shopping and we were still a little sleepy, as you can see. The humans weren’t quick enough but, yes, we were sleeping next to each other =^.^=

Enjoy a fun weekend! Don’t forget to nap!!
