Humans have a problem with doors. They put them everywhere. For no reason really. It’s okay to keep dangerous animals or humans, but us cats, why?
Well, here is a crazy story of a cat being kept… in a prison! In Russia.
Sergei Mokhnatkin was arrested in December 2009 during an opposition rally and was accused of breaking a police officer’s nose . . . . On April 25, he was freed after being pardoned by president Dmitri Medvedev.
In prison, Mokhnatkin adopted an abandoned cat with a missing leg that he named Tsiga. When the time came to leave his cell however, prison authorities refused to let him take the cat. So now, having campaigned for Mokhnatkin’s liberation, some Russian Internet users have launched a campaign for his cat to go free.

Some humans are nice, but some are cruel. I can see no reason for not letting this poor cat go with the human he found himself.
On 25 April Sergei Mokhnatkin was released from Torzhok penal colony. ‘They have released him! Now let them give him back Tsyga the cat’, journalist Olga Romanova wrote in her blog. She called for the prison administration to give Mokhnatkin back his cat, something they had refused to do.
‘The administration of penal colony No. 4 will not give Mokhnatkin his cat, Tsyga. Perhaps it will sell him the cat? Dear comrades, sell the cat – for cash!!! The money will go to increase the colony’s income!!! Or for whatever purpose you choose,’ Romanova writes.
I, too, demand that Tsyga be freed!
